The area of St. John´s College is generous for rural conditions. It is the only institution of this size and at a reasonable distance west of Prague (27 km), which not only functions as a school building and facilities, but is able to accommodate up to a hundred participants for residential events, educational events, conferences or weddings and other celebrations. The school is able to offer friendly prices, which are also appreciated by children and youth groups.
The surrounding nature is our closest partner. Poetically said: “Wherever the eye looks, it will see a forest or a limestone rock.” The rustle of the surrounding forest or springs of water flowing directly in the area of the building is an integral part of the Midsummer “silence”. The famous Czech poets and writers Karel Hynek Mácha, Josef Mánes, the family of Karel Čapek, František Nepil and many other artists and personalities, but mainly countless ordinary people or pilgrims came and still keep coming to this picturesque place with a unique atmosphere.
Premises to hire
Monastery refectory
It is considered a conference and representation space, located on the ground floor of the building. Among other things, numerous wedding ceremonies, concerts, lectures and cultural performances take place there. The decoration of this space is almost original. It boasts stucco decoration and a prized fresco by painter Spitzer.
Music hall
It is another ceremonial room. Its space is again decorated with a fresco over the entire ceiling, and in addition there is a large-format painting by the painter Joachim Bachman (probably from 1661), which depicts the laying of the foundation stone to the building of the local church.
Chapel
The largest room is the former monastery library on the second floor. At present, it is a popular place for the most visited school and extracurricular activities.
Classrooms
There are a total of 8 classrooms on each floor. Some of them are focused on special education. For example: a computer or art classroom.

Premises for accommodation – rooms
The college building offers student-type accommodation rooms. There is a total of 19 rooms equipped mostly with four to eight beds.
We are not a hotel and we do not offer hotel services either, but numerous groups of people of all specializations like to return to a proven place where they can relax, but also work, learn and meditate, bond or discover themselves.
Of course, there is also access to the college chapel, where you can practice prayer.
Our school offers its services not only to students but also to the general public.
You can stay with us, rent a room for a planned assembly, conference, informal meeting or also for a wedding.

We recommend bookings at least 3 weeks in advance, especially for the months of May – August, for stays during public holidays and weekends.
Accommodation price (1 person / night):
- bed with bedding in a triple and multiple room CZK 250
- bed with bedding in a double room 320 CZK
- discount 40 CZK when using your own sleeping bag
- sleeping on the ground with your own sleeping bag 125, – CZK
- Children under 6 years (inclusive) provide a 50% discount on accommodation. In the case of families with more than one child, a 50% discount can be applied to the third and each additional child.
Pets are not allowed in the building, nor can they be accommodated!

Accommodation and rental agreement
If you need a room with a piano, then order classrooms T1, T3, T4 or a music hall. The piano is also available in the chapel and in the refectory.
We provide these services at the prices listed in the price list above. We also ask our guests to comply with the conditions set out in the Visitor Regulations.
