Educational Programmes
We are currently preparing future teachers in a three-year higher professional study of newly accredited educational programmes:
Preschool and Extracurricular Pedagogy (75-31-N / 03) – full-time form of study /application/
Preschool and Extracurricular Pedagogy (75-31-N / 03) – combined (distance) form of study /application/
Successful graduates will receive the title of “Diploma Specialist” (DiS.), which in the job classification corresponds to the university Bc.
Applicants for a full-time study have to pass an interview.
The school prepares its students for the career of teaching not only in terms of psychological-pedagogical specialization, but also in terms of religion-philosophical-ethical and environmental. It seeks to help students to orient themselves in today’s world, find their own positions and understand the person in its complexity, be able to evaluate new pedagogical methods and understand children from other cultures. The environmental focus of the study leads the student to the perception of their own environment and gives instructions on how to awaken in children the awareness of belonging to the landscape. Our main motto is: “We do not introduce children to the world, together we create it.”
Erasmus allows students to spend a semester in our Partner Universities in Belfast and Munich.
Po získání 150 kreditů (cca 3 semestrů studia) lze absolvovat závěrečnou zkoušku z kurzu Asistent pedagoga.
Návazné studium
Úspěšný student může pokračovat ve studiu studijního oboru Pedagogika volného času na Teologické fakultě Jihočeské univerzity v Českých Budějovicích a během jednoho roku dosáhnout titulu Bc.
Absolvent naší školy může také pokračovat ve studiu na Jaboku – VOŠ sociálně pedagogické a teologické v Praze. Zde lze během jednoho roku dosáhnout titulu DiS. ve studijním oboru Sociální pedagogika s uplatněním i jako sociální pracovník.

Graduates´placement
Our graduates are legally qualified to perform the profession of preschool teacher and school group educator, they can work in school clubs or other out-of-school facilities. They also have the qualification of a teaching assistant.
Our graduates might want to consider a job in children’s and youth homes, play centres or leisure centres. They are competent to practice the profession of independent kindergarten teacher.
As a worker with higher qualifications, he/she is able to comprehensively ensure or manage educational and coordination activities in the use of leisure time of children and youth in educational facilities of various types, so he/she can act as an animator of hobby activities, independent leisure educator. The graduate can also provide individual educational care in medical facilities and as a personal assistant to a child with special educational needs. As a pedagogical worker, he/she is able to work in information and environmental centres and manage community associations and associations of national minorities, maternity centres, etc.
Our studies also open up the possibility of further professional studies at pedagogical universities. An agreement was set between the St. John´s College – the higher vocational school of pedagogy and the Faculty of Theology of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice on different conditions for the admission of applicants to study the bachelor’s discipline of Leisure Time Pedagogy. Successful graduates of the St. John´s College can be enrolled to the study only on the basis of an oral interview. Furthermore, they will be recognized as gradual subjects and can complete a bachelor’s degree in an abbreviated form of one year. The Faculty of Theology of the University of South Bohemia makes it possible to continue education even for a master’s degree.
We consider the strengths of our college to be mainly its good reputation among employers and the efforts of our teachers to continuously create wide networks of graduates and their interconnection, which help them to share job offers in the field. In terms of employment, our graduates have up to 98% success in finding your next job. Graduate of a higher vocational pedagogical school with the title DiS. has the same salary classification as a bachelor’s degree graduate.
